About Me

Hi, I’m Karen Finch at Open Window Counselling. I provide an approachable, empathetic and non-judgmental counselling service based in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

I’ve helped many clients to successfully overcome debilitating anxiety, emotional trauma, and to move on with their lives after significant grief.

I often work with clients experiencing big changes in their lives, helping them to make sense of what is happening and to gain optimism and confidence – finding new opportunities within seemingly overwhelming situations.

My specialty is emotional trauma. I use a trauma informed approach, with kindness and without judgment. I aim to empower clients to understand and manage their emotional responses and to gain control of their own stories.

I’m an experienced group facilitator and run therapeutic groups on a regular basis.

I worked for many years in Corporate Marketing, and have a Bachelor of Commerce (UNSW). I retrained as a Counsellor because I wanted to use my communication skills to help people, and gained a Graduate Diploma Counselling (ACAP).

I have qualified to become a Clinical Member of PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia). I’m committed to professional development and ongoing study and training.

You can call or text me on 0424 472 449 or email karen@openwindowcounselling.com.au
